“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity”
Albert Einstein

In potentially the most life-changing year ever, the profound adjustments we are experiencing have given us a unique opportunity to reflect on our ability to cope and build our own resilience.
How have we managed?

From a homeopathic perspective those of you who have ‘practiced’ homeopathy for a while will have drawn on your own self-awareness. You can see where you ‘health corridor’ is at its best and where it is at its worst. This has not changed. This existed before and after Covid 19. We all cope better whether that’s fighting a virus or anxiety, when we are tuned into what we need.

The year 2020 has brought about its own, unique challenges and there is no doubt that the current pandemic has affected us all, in one way or another.

Whether this be physically, mentally, or financially, it’s been a difficult time and we all have growing concerns about what the future holds.

Some are experiencing an increase in anxiety, stress or even insomnia regarding finding their new normal.
It’s this ‘new normal’ which I would like to discuss in this newsletter.
Challenges have always existed, and our bodies have always responded. The body knows what to do. Whether we have the awareness is a different subject. Whether it is a global pandemic or a very personal challenging time our body has the potential of becoming susceptible. A colleague who is an osteopath said the other day:
“The body has freedom to shift”

In other words, we must allow the body to respond freely and then we need to listen to the response.

Headaches may need rest, food or time to cry.

Eczema may need time to see how else we can respond to an irritating situation.

Difficulty in breathing may insinuate time to let go.

Lifestyle responses enable remedies to work.
Change enables opportunity.

How Can Anybody Possibly Know How I Feel? James Morris

!So, how can anybody say
They know how I feel
When they are they,
And only I am I!

A patient of mine reminded me of the wonderful lyrics by James Morrison, how individual each and every one of us are- and it’s our responsibility to be aware of who we are so we can create a healthier environment. This patient who very bravely took a deep leap into self-awareness rewrote his narrative. How very brave.

How do we do this? Self-Awareness is a fantastic and extremely useful tool but not always familiar to people.
I suggest the following:

*Make time - schedule it in your diary*
*Allow yourself to ponder about yourself and what makes you tick*
*Make a timeline can you see patterns? *
*Ask those who know and care about you what they see. Have they noticed any patterns in your health? *
*Listen to your body. *

Remember symptoms are information
Information gives us choice.

Choose how you wish to proceed.

The Clinic at 2a Mill Road is still running remotely, however this is reviewed regularly.

Having reviewed government guidelines and advice from my professional body (Society of Homeopaths), I will continue to run all appointments remotely. This will be reviewed every week. The next step is to offer a transition period where both myself and patient can be in the same room, in a socially distanced manner, using appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g. plastic visors). I have given this considerable thought and believe wearing a masks is not conducive for a proper case to be taken. I am looking into buying visors in bulk and will advise. During this transition period patients will always have the option to continue appointments remotely.

I will continue to update you; in the meantime any questions please feel free to get in touch.

Also, I want to share some very exciting news...
